IFP Automation is seeking a value-added assembly technician to work in our Fort Wayne Indiana manufacturing location. We are a mechanical, fluid power, electrical automation, and controls firm offering significant integration services. These roles require performing assembly and manufacturing duties as assigned by IFP Manufacturing Project Manager.

Compensation:

$15 - $16 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Assembling hydraulic hoses, valve manifold assemblies, hose kits with hydraulic hoses, and other components, assemble mobile valve assemblies.
  • Light machining on a drill press and band saw.
  • General assembly and value-added work.
  • Lifting and loading parts onto the shelf and assembly table.
  • Fork truck operation.
  • Preparing product for carrier shipment.
  • Assemble and package kits.
  • Measure, cut, and crimp hose assemblies.
  • Work as a team with IFP engineers and the project management group.
Qualifications:

Skills required (training will be provided for the right candidate):


  • Candidates must have experience and/or willingness to operate and learn a variety of hand tools, read a tape measure, and operate machinery such as a cutting saw, pipe threader, hose cutting saw, and hose crimper.
  • Ability to learn manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Welding experience is helpful but not necessary.
  • Following directions under limited supervision.
  • Willing to take direction and coaching.
  • Metal fabrication skills are helpful but not required.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations and read blueprints.
  • Comply with safety and operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate with co-workers to provide and receive direction.
  • Good performance/work history.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Workplace orderliness.
