Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team in our complex manufacturing environment. The Buyer will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and equipment necessary for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to navigate a complex supply chain to ensure timely delivery of high-quality goods.

Responsibilities:


  1. Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers capable of meeting the complex requirements of our manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  2. Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews, and addressing any issues or concerns to ensure consistent supply chain performance.
  3. Material Planning and Procurement: Collaborate with production planners and other relevant departments to determine material requirements, forecast demand, and develop procurement strategies to support production schedules.
  4. Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives while minimizing risks and maximizing cost savings.
  5. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, track material usage, and optimize inventory management practices to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
  6. Quality Assurance: Work closely with quality control teams to ensure purchased materials and components meet quality standards and specifications, conducting supplier audits and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  7. Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies and procedures, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a complex or highly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain management principles.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to drive cost savings and value-added initiatives.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex data.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and work effectively in a team environment.
