Job Title: Planner & Buyer

FLSA Status:  Salaried Exempt

Summary of Job:

We are seeking an Engineering Planner for our machining and assembly requirements. The ideal candidate will contribute to our engineering team by working with programmers and other planners to develop Job Travelers/Planning's for primarily aerospace machining and assembly production jobs.

Will perform all phases of procurement and planning in support of estimating. Specialize in planning, procuring machined parts, hardware, and special processes. Ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained, and lead times are met to meet the needs of the program. 

 

Key Duties:

·         Utilize MRP System Job Boss to build engineering planning's

o   Develop engineering planning's from customer provided engineering.

·         Applications

o   Utilize CATIA and/or Mastercam for 3D model analysis as required.

o   Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.

  • Determine and flow down material requirements from engineering drawings, contract review and special customer requirements to suppliers through purchase orders. Schedule, plan and expedite purchase orders in accordance with management, financial, engineering, quality, and schedule objectives.
  • Ensure that visual management tools and metrics are established and maintained. 
  • Supports marketing and engineering objectives by providing quotations in accordance with lead-time guidelines.
  • Maintains and communicates supplier promise dates to suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Liaison between suppliers and value stream to assure continuing support of company, customer, and supplier objectives.  Develops effective and professional relationships with suppliers.
  • Generate spreadsheets, reports, and presentations as required. Maintain files, procurement documents, and supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external customers. Supports business objectives. Contributes and promotes a positive team environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Accomplish related results as required.

 

 

Experience:

·         2-5 Years or more of aerospace planning and buyer experience.

·         Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and processes.

·         Strong negotiation skills.

·         BS Degree preferred.
