The Co-op program at Fulton is a great opportunity for students to work with a multidisciplinary team and gain experience. Fulton touches many aspects of engineering, from combustion technology to electrical systems to heat transfer to turbomachinery.


The R&D Electrical / Controls Engineer will assist in design and development of embedded control systems for use in industrial heating equipment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Firmware design and review
  • Electrical communication interfacing
  • Researching novel solutions to existing issues
  • Reviewing and deploying potential user identified bugs
  • GUI/Graphics Development
  • Optimization and utilization of embedded operating systems
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications and Required Experience):

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer/Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or Embedded Software Engineering preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Courses focused on Digital Electronics and Communication, Embedded Controls, Analog Electronics, Operating Systems, or Programming preferred.
  • Software development (C, C++, Java)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Repetitive Motion – Substantial movement/motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
  • Sitting – The body is supported by buttocks and back and employees needs to remain seated for extended periods of time.
  • Walking – Moving about on foot to travel and accomplish tasks, including long distances.
  • Vision – Visual acuity is required to view a computer terminal and to analyze data.
