General Description
Cirba Solutions is the most trusted and complete battery solution partner in the world. For 30 years, we have led the BATTERY RECYCLING industry through our services, processing, and material upgrading. Contributing to the CIRCULAR ECONOMY model is our core focus. The Plant Manager is responsible for all operating aspects of the site operations for battery testing, repair, disassembly, shipping and receiving. This includes health & safety compliance, security, on-time delivery of service, quality and cost. This person must manage team leaders effectively to ensure a safe and productive workforce. This role must work closely with sales to understand customer requirements while also partnering with HR to properly staff and manage the work force.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all operations at the Brea plant.
- Ensure that safety and environmental standards are met, and that safety training is provided to employees.
- Develop a good working relationship with the Health, Safety and Environmental Department in addition to developing a positive safety culture on the floor.
- Will need to be able to research, attain, and apply knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations.
- Work with other managers to develop policies and processes for environmental protection, waste management, and recycling programs.
- Develop and conduct safety inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential hazards and correct unsafe conditions.
- Develop and implementing plans to ensure that the facility has an adequate supply of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment used in plant processes.
- Oversee the use of resources and materials in production processes to ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Ensure that all manufacturing/storage equipment is in good working order, including regular maintenance and repairs as needed through the Maintenance Department.
- Monitor production costs and efficiency to ensure that they are within budget guidelines.
- Review reports from staff on equipment malfunctions and other issues that could impact production efficiency.
- Work in conjunction with the Finance Department on budgetary items for operations.
- Work in conjunction with Sales Department in identifying, pricing and scheduling materials.
- Serve as company representative on business decisions to ensure compliance and profitability.
- Serve as the process owner for the Lean manufacturing operational transformation.
- Develop in depth knowledge of the facilities customers and the corresponding programs managed.
- Will become the primary onsite operational contact for customer leadership groups.
- Directly support the HR team and perform HR related activities necessary to support the site and employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and managerial attributes.
- High level of organizational and time-management skills.
- Proven experience, at an intermediate level, with warehouse management skills as it pertains to applying traditional material handling and recycling methodologies;
- Strong understanding of environmental and health and safety regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology.
- Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues.
- Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Proven experience leading and participating on teams in a collaborative environment;
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Familiarity working within a structured Quality Management System (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced, detail and production oriented environment;
- Bilingual - Proficient in English and Spanish
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- On the job, SOPs for Department OSHA/EPA/DOT/RCRA required training.
- BS degree preferred but not required.
- Candidate must have 5-7 years’ experience in an industrial management, manufacturing or recycling role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
