Position Description:
The Staff Accountant will perform professional accounting work including the examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and verification of financial records and related duties. This position involves daily interaction with a multidisciplinary team and staff and requires an above average level of flexibility, dependability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and creative thinking.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Three (3) years analytical experience.
- Experience in month-end closing journal entries, audit schedules, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years accounting experience.
- Three (3) years’ experience in non-profit accounting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be a team player.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership; demonstrate ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities and exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be technical savvy and comfort with financial and accounting reporting systems as well as other software platforms.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-volume, and deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrate excellent analytic, organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate key data and to translate financial concepts to individuals at all levels.
Work Conditions:
- Environment: Office
- Range of Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Travel: None
