Job Title: Contract Staff Accountant

Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant for a 2–3-month contract to perform various financial tasks essential for the smooth operation of our finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month End Journal Entries: Prepare and post accurate month-end journal entries to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Commissions: Calculate, track, and process commission payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Payroll: Handle payroll processing, including payroll accrual, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Sales Elimination: Reconcile intercompany sales transactions to eliminate duplicate or overstated revenue.
  • In-Transit: Monitor and reconcile in-transit inventory to ensure accurate reporting and valuation.
  • Freight Accounting: Manage freight accounting activities, including freight accruals, reconciliations, and cost analysis.
  • Rebate Accrual Accounting: Calculate, record, and reconcile rebate accruals to accurately reflect liabilities and expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification or in progress preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
