OVERVIEW

In this role, the Painter or Prepper is responsible for mixing the appropriate paint for the sign that is being painted, evenly masking with painters tape, sanding or cleaning any areas to prep for painting, and cleaning all tools and equipment used for each sign that is being painted.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean and prepare surfaces. (Masking, grit blasting or chemical prep)
  • Prepare paints. A high degree of accuracy is required. Use of viscosity cups, thickness gauges and gloss gauges to test makeup of paint and an understanding of chemistry mix of compounds is required.
  • Clean work area. Knowledgeable in the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemical and waste.
  • Maintain equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining paint equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in high-end automotive or industrial equipment paint prepping. Sign industry experience preferred.
  • Painters’ only – Previous Experience painting in high-end automotive or industrial equipment environments.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-production work environments
  • Read, write, and speak English
  • Self-motivated and work well in a team and independently

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Previous Paint Prep experience required
  • Painters Only – previous painting experience high-end automotive or industrial equipment, 3-5 years required.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • May be required to stand for long periods of time
  • May involve some repetitive motions
  • Must be able to lift to 75 pounds.
  • May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
  • Ability to be fitted for a Respirator, both Medically and Physically
  • Will be required to be certified as a Forklift Operator by Chandler Signs
  • Will be required to be certified as an Overhead Crane Operator by Chandler Signs
  • Others as deemed required by company to be safe for your role.

SHIFTS:

  • Second Shift: 2:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. Plus 2nd Shift differential Pay
