Bookkeeper Job Description


We are looking for a long-term Bookkeeper that will be an integral member of our Accounting and Payroll teams. We service clients in a wide range of industries based across the US. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting principles and can work comfortably with minimal supervision to deliver accurate and timely workproducts.  


Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping and payroll services for clients
  • Data entry from source documents to prepare financial statements for clients
  • Payroll processing for clients, including payment of taxes and quarterly payroll tax return filing
  • General ledger and bank reconciliations
  • Research and analysis as required to accurately record transactions and prepare financial statements
  • Documentation and preparation of materials for income tax returns
  • Project management of assigned client projects to deliver timely and accurate finished products as per expectations

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated acumen of accounting principles and ability to strategically apply to client scenarios
  • Proficiency with data entry / bookkeeping
  • Strong work ethic and adherence to client and company confidentiality protocols
  • Excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritize work, and the ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail, precision, and professionalism in all tasks and communications
  • Ability to calmly handle pressure in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of information in an organized manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn at all times and flexibility to adapt to shifting business needs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, such as printers, fax machines, and phone systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working for an accounting firm
  • Previous experience with payroll processing
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks and Accountant’s Office
  • College degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Northwest Orange County resident
