An HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. The job requires knowledge of mechanical and electrical components, as well as experience in diagnosing and solving problems related to HVAC systems. The right candidate must have proficient capability of field fabricating sheet metal for ductwork transitions and be familiar with utilizing a mobile app CRM for day-to-day activities.


Some specific duties of an HVAC Service Technician may include:

  • Install and maintain HVAC systems: HVAC Service Technicians install, maintain, and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. They may work on a variety of systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, and heat pumps.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems: HVAC Service Technicians are responsible for identifying the root cause of any issues with HVAC systems. They use diagnostic tools and their knowledge of the systems to identify problems and come up with solutions.
  • Repair and replace components: HVAC Service Technicians repair or replace any faulty or worn components in HVAC systems. This may involve replacing a motor, fixing a leak, or replacing a compressor.
  • Perform regular maintenance: HVAC systems require regular maintenance to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively. HVAC Service Technicians perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning ducts, replacing filters, and inspecting components for wear and tear.
  • Provide excellent customer service: HVAC Service Technicians interact with customers on a regular basis, so they must be able to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service. They must be able to explain problems and solutions clearly and professionally.
  • Keep up with industry trends: HVAC Service Technicians must stay up to date on industry trends, new technologies, and regulations. They may attend training sessions or workshops to keep their skills and knowledge current.
  • Maintain accurate records: HVAC Service Technicians must maintain accurate records of all work performed, including repairs, maintenance, and installations. This information may be used for billing purposes or to provide documentation to customers or regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures that heating, cooling, and ventilation systems operate efficiently and effectively


Requirements:

To be a successful HVAC Service Technician, you will need to have a combination of technical and interpersonal skills. Here are some of the key skills needed:
