Summary/Objective

The Accounting Coordinator will provide support to the accounting & mortgage services functions of the affiliate. Position objectives may be achieved in conjunction with volunteer or other staff efforts, with oversight to ensure quality.


Essential Functions

Finance

  • Prepare daily bank deposit.
  • Receive and post mortgage payments and homeowners’ insurance and ensure receipts in QuickBooks.
  • Receive and post all other deposits in QuickBooks.
  • Reconcile mortgage and escrow receivable balances with Mortgage Services team monthly.
  • Conduct Escrow Analysis annually.
  • Update homeowner mortgage and escrow invoices.
  • Help with invoices and payments.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with other account reconciliations.
  • Learn all activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core-employee expense reports, as the Accounts Payable backup.
  • Assist with annual audit by providing requested information and preparing schedules.
  • Implements and performs special projects and other duties as determined by supervisor.

Work Environment

routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and

fax machines.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to

successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the

employee is regularly required to use hands, reach with hands/arms, listen, and communicate. The

employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds on a necessary basis and will

occasionally be required to stand and walk for extended periods of time consistent with a typical office

environment.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly compensated position working approximately 40 hours a week Monday through

Friday. In the event the employee is required to work more than 40 hours in a single work week

overtime compensation will be paid. Flexibility is necessary for occasional attendance at evening

meetings, and preparation for special events.


Education, Experience and Attributes

  • Associate’s degree preferred in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of previous related experience.
  • Prior QuickBooks experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently.
  • Understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow.
