Duration: 3 months - Possibility of extension

Job Description:

The Food Sensory Testing Assistant will gain hands-on experience in Sensory Science by assisting sensory lab specialists in designing, organizing, and executing sensory tests that support various facets of the Client enterprise. Responsibilities include test execution, data collection, data analysis, report writing, and support for product cuttings. Additionally, the assistant will manage kitchen inventory, adhere to cleaning protocols, assist with shipping, procure materials, and perform other duties as needed. Throughout the program, the employee may receive special projects to expand their knowledge and exposure to new aspects of sensory science.

Education:

  • Current student or Bachelor's degree in the following majors encouraged to apply: Food Science, Meat Science, Sensory Science, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Culinary, Psychology, and Statistics majors are preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous lab work experience in any field.
  • Sensory lab experience is a plus.

Computer Skills:

  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel, familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.

Communication Skills:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Special Skills:

  • Ability to multitask.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • SERV Safe certification is a plus.
