POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists with cardiovascular and other invasive studies or treatments. The CV/IR technologist operates x-ray and specials interventional angio suite/cath lab to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by the referring physician. Positions and instructs the patient for the radiological and fluoroscopic examination, adjusts the x-ray equipment and determines the proper exposure settings for each part examined. The technologist must be capable of doing specialized interventional studies and versatile in all operations. Maintains and controls inventory.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Radiological Sciences: Required
  • 1 year of previous experience in invasive procedures: Required
  • 1 year of recent clinical cardiology, interventional radiology or cardiovascular experience: Required
  • 2 years' invasive cardiac cath lab experience: Preferred
  • ARRT: Preferred
  • RCIS: Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association: Required
  • ACLS: Required within 6 months of new hire or transfer
  • Current CA Radiology Technologist license: Required
  • Current CA Fluoro License: Required


ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
