Position Overview:

Are you ready to join a team where your work has a direct impact on national security? As an Inspector at PRL, you'll be responsible for inspecting various parts, castings, forgings, and weldments using a variety of methods and tools. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Job Summary:

As an Inspector at PRL, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products. You'll inspect castings, forgings, and weldments using visual, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic methods. Your ability to use inspection and measuring tools, read blueprints, and follow written procedures will be key to your success in this role.

Job Qualifications:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or vocational training in mechanical technology or trades area preferred.

- Experience: Two or more years of related work experience in industrial, mechanical, or machining product inspection preferred.

- Skills: Ability to use inspection and measuring tools, read blueprints, follow verbal and written instructions, and function independently with minimal supervision.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Inspect castings, forgings, and weldments using visual, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic methods.

2. Perform hydrostatic pressure testing.

3. Use various mechanical and electronic tools and equipment.

4. Perform tests in accordance with written procedures and specifications.

5. Inspect in accordance with written instructions.

6. Complete written and practical examinations in English for each testing method and physical eye exam.

7. Sketch and locate welds.

8. Load and unload trucks and material handling.

9. Prepare and package shipments and perform receiving serialization.

10. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hand trucks, floor or hanging scales, and banding equipment.

11. Verify information on documents to correspond with parts.

12. Record information in accordance with instructions.

13. Serialize parts using vibro-tool or stamping using hammer and steel stamps.

14. Operate a pickup truck and required to have a valid driver’s license.

Physical and Mental Efforts:

General: Extensive mobility required, some lifting. Position requires ability to lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds occasionally; walk and stand for long durations; see objects closely and distinguish between contrasting colors; and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 45 to 60 minutes at a time.
