Position Title: Machinist

2nd shift

Location:

Hartland, WI

Hours: M-TH 2pm-12:30am (off on Fridays)

Position Overview:

This Position sets up and operates either a CNC Lathe or Vertical Mill to create customized parts within tolerance of prints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reviews and organizes work orders and pulls set up instructions and blueprints from Epicor if applicable.

• Sets up appropriate programs to run the CNC Lathe or Vertical Mill based on work orders and blueprints. May edit the programs and set up instructions.

• Supplies the bar feeder with appropriate material as needed. May saw parts to appropriate size prior to loading.

• Runs and operates the Lathe or Vertical Mill.

• Performs changeovers as needed which often has manual aspects and requires attention to detail.

• Deburr finished parts using deburring wheel or other hand tools if necessary.

• Performs quality checks and measure finished parts using hand measurement tools, (micrometers, calipers, plug gauges & profilometers) to determine if they are within tolerance.

• Makes appropriate offsets if parts are not within tolerance.

• Scan parts into Epicor, log date and other details of the job.

• Performs basic PMS and performs 5S in area.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:

• Experience operating vertical Mills such as: Haas VF2, Haas Toolroom, Doosan, Mori, Bridgeport or equivalent.

• Experience operating CNC Lathes such as: Okuma, Fryer or equivalent.

• A team player with excellent communication skills.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and solid blueprint reading skills.

• Ability to think abstractly to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems.

• Ability to be flexible and adjust priories to reflect changing needs or job demands.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ experience operating CNC machinery or a combination of education and experience.

• Ability to navigate through CNC controls.

• Ability to read and edit G Code preferred.

You should be proficient in:

• Manual Machining Skills
• Machine Setups for Production Runs
• G-Code

Machines & technologies you'll use:

• CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Okuma, Haas, Doosan)
• CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Bridgeport, Doosan)

Salary info:

$22 - $29 / hr
