WHAT WE NEED: Process Engineer to test & implement new product designs and process equipment that are an integral part of the organization’s product development portfolio. Review and improve existing product and equipment designs. Provide ongoing support to operations in the areas of equipment startup, trouble shooting, training and productivity improvements.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: Job duties include the following; other duties maybe assigned:
- Oversee and manage product development and production process, including the creation of designs, prototype development, and performance testing.
- Develop expertise in manufacturing equipment (converter and filler). This includes pilot plant equipment as well as lead commercial lines.
- Troubleshoot new and existing problems involving designs, materials, equipment and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.
- Works closely with Quality Engineering, escalating issues impacting product quality
- Adhere to all GMP and safety practices at the site
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in packaging, ideally converting, business.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills are necessary
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have good communication skills, orally and in writing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with effective time management
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally for 1-2 weeks at a time
- Good organizational skills and the ability to assemble resources needed to orchestrate multiple projects / activities and accomplish goals
- Understanding of process improvement, quality improvement concepts is needed
- CAD experience is preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher Preferred
- Intermediate to High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
