  • Ability to manipulate parts and tooling effectively
  • Understanding of forging process and procedures
  • Performs inspections on material during forging process
  • Ability to use tape measure, calipers, straight edge
  • Ability to follow directions given by Supervisor
  • Ability to follow written instructions on traveler
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Maintains a safe and organized work area and displays concern to maintain equipment (press, manipulator, furnaces, etc.)
  • Follows all company policies and safety procedures
  • Follows all specifications as required by Quality Department
  • Follows all work instructions
  • Responsible for reporting any equipment maintenance needs
  • Responsible for training in Press Department
  • Ability to load and unload furnaces per forge list
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Ability to complete simple production reports
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and fractions
  • Accurately measure using 1/8 and 1/16
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to operate a forklift

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • Familiar with hydraulic open die press
  • Previous, relevant, work experience in Aluminum Forging environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing normal duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception to read instruments, operate material handling equipment and identify colors. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities in accordance to legal requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in this work environment requires hearing protection.
