Your Opportunity:

Full time position reporting to the Chief Marketing and Operations Officer. As a Junior Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for supporting the security team in protecting MyBambu’s digital assets and customer information. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as assisting in the implementation of security policies and procedures

Job Responsibilities:

  • Security Monitoring: Monitor security events and alerts using security information and event management (SIEM) tools to detect and respond to potential threats.
  • Incident Response: Assist in investigating and responding to security incidents, including analyzing logs, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing remediation strategies.
  • Vulnerability Management: Support the vulnerability assessment process by scanning systems, analyzing results, and working with teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
  • Access Control: Help manage and monitor access controls to ensure that only authorized users have access to sensitive systems and data.
  • Security Awareness: Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness training programs to educate employees on best practices and potential threats.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts.
  • Policy Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with internal security policies, procedures, and industry regulations, particularly those relevant to the neobanking sector.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices to help protect the organization against emerging risks.
  • Support Security Projects: Work on various cybersecurity projects, such as implementing new security tools, conducting risk assessments, and improving security processes.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to assess security alerts, identify patterns, and determine the appropriate response to potential threats.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to accurately identify vulnerabilities and potential security risks.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey security issues and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as SIEM systems, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with other Tech and security professionals to achieve common goals.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new security technologies, methods, and challenges in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
  • Integrity: High level of professionalism, ethics, and discretion in handling sensitive security information.

Job Requirements:

  • Bilingual proficiency Spanish and English, preferred.
  • One (1) year of internships in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Pursuing or holding certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar is preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
