Job DescriptionJob Description

We are searching for a PRN Laundry Aide to join our community that is resident and family focused, a team builder, and excited about the opportunity to assist in building a facility culture. This job may also cross train with Housekeeping.

You are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. You are responsible for completing general laundry service duties and distribution of clean linens to nursing units.

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
  • Collect and sort soiled laundry and linens throughout the facility.
  • Wash, dry, and fold laundry; clean linens and distribute.
  • Adhere to established cleaning and infection control procedures.
  • Use appropriate PPE and supplies when handling infectious materials.
  • Assure that established infection control and universal precautions and practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures.

Specific Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to read, understand, and follow instructions as well as accept constructive criticism.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of laundry areas for sanitation, order, and safety.
  • Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess, as a minimum, high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years experience in a medical facility, preferred.
