Job purpose

Under the supervision of the Director of Casino Services, the incumbent will generate a customer awareness of member programs as well any upcoming special events or promotions. Maintains close ties with targeted customers through personal contact by phone and in person to generate incremental gaming revenues. Meet and greet players on the casino floor, at special events, and during promotion. Must have exceptional customer service in accordance with the service goals of the Marketing Department, as well as, the casino.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with guests and market our gaming product and amenities to valued guests.
  • Greet guests in the casino and participate in social events and special promotions.
  • Must be energetic, friendly, sharp, and professional at all times.
  • Circulate the floor greeting guests who are playing in all gaming areas.
  • Identify potential new members for the Player’s Club and explain card benefits.
  • Provide information on current and upcoming special events, promotions, entertainment, and all casino facilities.
  • Assist guests in obtaining service for machine repairs, change, payoffs or understanding machine operations.
  • Resolve any problem or perceived guest inconvenience in order to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Provide special services to include food, beverage, transportation, cross-property events, and Player’s Club programs.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all gaming machines, table games, player tracking systems, promotions, events, entertainment, and general property information.
  • Safeguard the confidential nature of all departmental and company records.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two (2) years of casino host or gaming experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain a gaming license.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have solid planning, time management, decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work overtime, irregular hours and occasionally travel.
