AWS Redshift DBA

Juno beach,FL

Client is seeking an experienced AWS Redshift Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Redshift DBA, you will be responsible for the administration and management of our Redshift environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the success.

Responsibilities:

1. Redshift Administration: Take ownership of the Redshift environment, including installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance. Monitor and optimize cluster performance, perform backups, and implement disaster recovery strategies. Ensure the security and integrity of the Redshift database.

2. Script Development: Write and maintain scripts to automate various database administration tasks, such as data loading, query optimization, monitoring, and reporting. Develop and enhance ETL processes to support data integration and transformation.

3. Performance Tuning and Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks by analyzing query execution plans, monitoring system resources, and fine-tuning SQL queries. Collaborate with developers to optimize database design and improve overall system performance.

4. Capacity Planning and Scaling: Proactively monitor resource utilization and plan for future capacity requirements. Evaluate and recommend appropriate Redshift cluster configurations based on workload patterns and business needs. Scale the Redshift environment to meet increasing data demands.

5. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

6. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, data integrity issues, and system errors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and address production incidents in a timely manner.

7. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including database schemas, configuration settings, backup and recovery procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Share knowledge and provide guidance to junior team members.
