Maintenance Technician for Trucking Facility

This role involves performing general maintenance and repair services for light commercial equipment, grounds, and parking surfaces at two distinct locations: a trucking company facility and a private school campus in the greater Nashville area. This is a full-time service position and we are looking for an individual with an exceptional customer service attitude, technical skills, and the desire to be the hardest working person on the lot.
Job Responsibilities:
- Self-perform tasks like picking up trash on the loading docks, pressure washing, and other routine work including exterior painting and managing limited amounts of landscaping.
- Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on all equipment and building/site components, including basic HVAC service (filter changing), painting, patching drywall, changing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs, unclogging toilets, general service work, etc.
- Complete service and inspection reports (fire extinguishers, light tests, 30-second emergency lights, lavatories, plumbing, etc.), timesheets, and other required documents in a professional, accurate, neat, and legible manner, and submitting them promptly.
- Meet the needs of the customer,
Work Schedule:
- 3 days per week at a trucking company facility
- 2 days per week at a private school campus
- Exposure to outdoor environments and weather conditions
- Very labor-intensive work
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience performing basic maintenance in commercial facilities.
- Must be willing to rarely work evenings or weekends when required. Very little overtime.
- Must be able to pass a TBI fingerprint criminal background check.
- Must be able to work in a smoke-free environment.
Personal Competencies:
- Warm, friendly, and customer-service-focused.
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate basic computer and smartphone skills for communication and recordkeeping.
Physical Requirements:
- Work will be primarily in unconditioned spaces and require long periods of movement and activity.
- Employment typically requires climbing, reaching, standing, and walking.
- The work environment will be noisy and around heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on an intermittent basis.
Full time:
40 hrs/week
Mon- Fri, from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (some flexibility) with rare weekend and weeknight responsibilities.
