Join a leading EV OEM as a Global Trading & General Purchasing Senior Manager Zing Recruiting is seeking an experienced professional to lead general purchasing and global trade activities and head of department for our valued client.

About the Role:
As the Global Trading & General Purchasing Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of general purchasing and global trade operations. From supplier management to cost control and compliance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and effective procurement processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee general purchasing, including procurement of steel, aluminum, sub-materials, paints, equipment, facility maintenance, repair, and operations (MROs), as well as global trade activities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the general purchasing and global trade organization, focusing on cost, quality, supplier management, legal compliance, and service
  • Manage employee development, performance evaluation, and organizational culture improvement initiatives
  • Establish and optimize work procedures and processes for both general purchasing and global trade sections
  • Recruit, train, and manage employees, providing work directives, performance feedback, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with headquarters, other divisions, and external organizations to support internal communication and departmental objectives
  • Develop, implement, and adjust overall strategies and management for general purchasing and global trade, ensuring compliance with local regulations and legal requirements
  • Proactively engage in consultations with relevant departments, related corporations, and government agencies
  • Create and execute sourcing strategies for general purchasing items and manage the supply base
  • Accountable for cost control and yearly cost reduction activities
  • Manage strategic provider relationships, including supplier improvement, contract management, and cost improvements
  • Direct data gathering for benchmarking, cost analysis, compliance reporting, and pricing negotiations
  • Provide procurement and sourcing-related training and process analysis to business unit personnel
  • Manage global trade systems, transportation, customs clearances, and duties related to free trade agreements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Extensive experience in global trade and general purchasing, with over 15 years in a related field, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Deep understanding of external markets and current trends
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
  • Experience in procurement departments
  • Knowledge of steel, aluminum, chemical, and MRO purchasing
  • Experience with free trade agreements and trade compliance preferred
