Description

The Industrial Pipe Shop Supervisor will work closely with project managers and superintendents to ensure work is coordinated in a safe and effective manner to promote a safe work environment, timeliness of jobs, and effectiveness in job completions.

Responsibilities

• Involvement during the beginning stages of new work coming into shop.
• Understanding buyouts related to new work coming into shop.
• Understand contracted schedule and sequence per the contract.
• Plan the required manpower to meet the schedule.
• Be able to manage multiple projects in the shop simultaneously.
• Supervise the execution of jobs according to the daily work schedule and assign work in a manner to maximize productivity.
• Receive, inventory, stock and distribute as required materials to complete ISOs as needed.
• Direct work to assigned crew leaders.
• Follow up on jobs assigned to determine progress and status according to the schedule, ensures the work is completed as scope was outlined.
• Electronically report daily progress and completions.
• Conduct an accurate evaluation regularly of crew members.
• Conduct regular meetings with crews to discuss current issues, deadlines as well as concerns.
• Assure that the methods and procedures are being followed as outlined.
• Take corrective action when safety or shop policies are violated.

Requirements

• Be able to supervise and lead in all piping aspects of an industrial job shop.
• Ability to optimize resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of the work.
• Able to demonstrate good organizational skills, following policies, procedures, work practices, and developing improvements where necessary.
• Able to read, interpret, and follow method statements and procedures.
• Develops excellent working relationships with workforce, department personnel, and client management.
• Must be a good communicator.
• Must be able to give instructions in an efficient and effective way to his workforce.
• Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and the documentation is completed on time.
• Must be able to read and interpret ISO’s and P&ID drawing.
• Must be familiar with the ASME pipe codes.
• Familiar with all company safety and QA/QC procedures and enforces them to the workforce.
• Must have basic computer knowledge. (Microsoft, Excel, and Procore)
• Experience with shop fabrication environment as well as field experience.
• Must be familiar with sanitary tube, stainless steel, and carbon pipe processes and procedures.
• Daily time sheets are completed accurately and on time.
• Manage manhours.
• Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
• Ensure equipment and tools are secure and used correctly.
