Job DescriptionJob Description

Demonstrate technical knowledge and skills to complete various duties such as: machine maintenance, electrical work, HVAC, mechanical work, plumbing, carpentry, safety, grounds maintenance, and housekeeping.
Perform electrical work to include replacing bulbs and ballasts; check and maintain emergency lighting; inspect, repair, and replace lighting contactors.
Inspect and troubleshoot disconnects, circuit breakers, outlets, switched, alarm wiring, phone wiring, IT wiring
Provide air and power for new or relocated equipment.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, clean HVAC units, draft fans, fan motors, damper motors, and filters.
Interact with HVAC contractor when spring and fall tune-ups occur.
Retain and maintain the maintenance service logs, schedule appropriate repairs on all equipment.
Test, monitor, and record sprinkler risers, valves, and alarm interface.
Communicate with alarm company and fire department at test intervals.
Monitor oil levels, clean coolers and drains in the air compressors; communicate with outside contractor to schedule oil and filter inspections/changes.
Change oils and filters on generators at proper intervals, steam clean engine generator and radiator annually.
Maintain, diagnose, and repair basic mechanical equipment.
Maintain safety-related equipment and procedures.
Coordinate maintenance portion of special projects: plant expansion, equipment moves and purchases.
Calculate supplies and materials needed: pipe, wiring, conduit, etc. and submit purchase requisition to the manufacturing manager.
Complete special projects alone as time allows.
Schedule overtime using work request backlog and estimate time frames as guidelines.
Perform janitorial duties as needed.
Coordinate safety projects as required.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Required
Attention to detail, good communication and problem-solving skills, a team player
Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function of the position.

Education/Experience Required
High School Degree or equivalent.
3-5 years experience in machine maintenance, electrical and mechanical work, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry.
Must have PLC experience or programming logic.

Personal Skills Required
Interact with others.
Work in high stress environment.
Deal with interpersonal conflicts.
Work with difficult customers.
Work in an office/manufacturing environment.
Coverage during certain periods.

Work Environment
Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility’s production floor or customer’s production environment.

Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer’s facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
