Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview:  Responsible for producing work in a TSS sewing team-based cluster, in accordance with NSA and TSS guidelines.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Ensure team members are properly trained to perform necessary tasks in cell positions, including cross-training in adjacent positions to cover for absences and flow changes due to team size and style changes.
  • Monitor team performance to ensure adherence to proper methods, safety, and system requirements to attain and exceed where possible efficiency (eProduction), throughput, quality, safety, housekeeping, and schedule standards.
  • Ensure teams follow single-piece, continuous flow processing to maintain work balance and flow to achieve efficiency, throughput, and schedules.
  • Where needed, provide corrective action and training in a timely manner to improve individual and team performance and adherence to company policies.
  • Staff cells to meet workloads and schedule needs, consistent with also providing opportunity for team rewards for efficiency and quality attainment.
  • Ensure teams receive timely and necessary support in receipt of work, necessary supplies, equipment, maintenance and other services so they can perform to or above requirement.
  • Track cluster workloads and re-balance or change staffing as necessary to meet requirements.
  • Monitor and approve team hours and work accomplished (pieces processed) in eProduction, for training and regular incentive bonuses; post results to keep teams informed of performance in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Conduct periodic team meetings to keep members informed, learn of team issues and needs so they can be addressed in a timely manner to improve the working environment and results.
  • Where needed, assist team members in resolving conflicts and addressing issues affecting their performance as teams.
  • Maintain liaison with other functions, including Customer Service, Cutting and Shipping to review customer requirements and issues to ensure proper service levels and company goals are attained.
  • Communicate with Area Manager on team results and issues on a regular basis.
  • Provide positive reinforcement in recognition of teams on jobs well done and with others work to create a satisfying, rewarding work environment.
  • Schedule team time-off and assign others to cover team absences and surges in workloads to ensure schedule attainment.
  • In emergencies, work with clusters as needed to ensure teams meet customer requirements.
  • Oversee necessary company documentation within teams and processes.
  • With team members seek and develop new methods and approaches and provide input to others on equipment needs and opportunities to lead to job enhancement and results improvements.
  • Safety: Responsible that your work areas are neat and orderly to promote a safe work environment. Your operators must follow ALL NSA Safety and Housekeeping Policies (including but not limited to: Safety glasses, music, food and drink, etc…).  You are responsible for your operators operating the equipment in a safe manner according to trained procedures.  You are responsible for reporting ANYTHING that appears unsafe in your opinion, and have the authority to shut down ANY task/operation that you feel may be unsafe.
  • When required, order and manage parts missing from orders to ensure that all products are made at NSA standards
  • Perform other tasks as required.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
  • Works as a team to accomplish production and manufacturing goals
  • Other duties as assigned by TSS Sewing Supervisors
Training: Necessary training will be provided on the job.
Qualifications:
            Education & Certifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred
            Experience: 3 year in a manufacturing environment preferred

Key Competencies: Initiative, Achievement Orientation, Analytical Thinking, Self Confidence, Teamwork and Collaboration  

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for duration of day and walk frequently

Working Conditions: Plant environment with constant background noise
