Vice President of Operations 

Role Summary 

Our GCG company, Archway, is seeking a Vice President of Operations to join their rapidly growing team. The Vice President of Operations will oversee and optimize the entire fulfillment operations across multiple locations across the US, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions for both B2B and direct-to-consumer e-commerce clients. This role will be a P&L owner and requires a strategic leader with a strong background in operations management, related technology, budget development, monitoring budgeted versus actual costs, supply chain optimization, and team leadership for performance and change management. This role is remote and does require some travel.

 Key Results Areas 

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and scalability of the fulfillment operations 

  • Align operations with the overall business objectives and customer satisfaction goals 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve service levels  

  • Oversee the site leaders on the team for daily operations of fulfillment centers, including warehousing, inventory management, order processing, shipping, technology, and analytics 

  • Drive standardization and consistency in training team members within each facility to ensure consistent delivery of services and flawless execution leading to a uniform customer experience 

  • Leverage technology and equipment to drive efficiencies in the warehouse 

  • Provide frequent warehouse monitoring, auditing and enforcement of system processes, safe working practices in adherence to OSHA regulations, and work with the quality team to perform auditing of systems and processes 

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies 

  • Oversee overall space capacity and facility management 

  •  Provide leadership, mentoring and management of operations team in the expansion and support of continuous improvement 

  • Ensure proper staffing levels and training programs to meet operational demands and growth. 

  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report on operational performance 

  • Drive continuous improvement and support LEAN and best practice initiatives 

  • Recruit, interview, access and hire key talent 

  • Anticipate future resource, process, procedure, and system requirements as changes in business dictate  

  • Partner with leaders in Sales, Customer Service, Technology, Finance, HR and others to collaborate on common goal of enabling business growth 

  • Develop strong relationships with external and internal partners including clients and vendors 

  • Actively participate in RFP, pricing negotiations and client facing meetings 

  • Lead implementation of advanced technologies and systems to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy 

  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate new tools and systems into the operations workflow 

  • Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure client satisfaction and retention 

  • Address and resolve any operational issues or escalations from clients in a timely and effective manner  

  • Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency 

  • Analyze financial reports and operational data to make informed decisions and drive profitability  

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. MBA preferred 

  • 10 + years of experience in operational management in a multiple distribution center setting with exhibited outstanding leadership and team building qualities 

  • Ability to interface with clients to address current and future needs and resolve operational issues 

  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence and to adjust as required based on the audience 

  • Highly organized with the ability to train, motivate, and maintain an efficient and energetic team environment 

  • Working knowledge and experience in fulfillment, warehouse, shipping/receiving disciplines, inventory and warehouse management systems 

  • Ability to work with a variety of disciplines and levels within the organization 

  • Excellent communication and people skills 

  • Ability to handle a fast paced and changing environment 

  • Outstanding leadership and managerial skills 

  • Proven track record of leading and scaling operations in a fast-paced environment 

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, warehousing, and transportation 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills 

  • Proficiency in using logistics and warehouse management systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
