Job DescriptionJob Description

Our client, a rapidly growing organization located in Traverse City, Michigan is looking for a Human Resource Director. Until now they have utilized a TPA to handle their Human Resources, but recognize the need to bring this in-house due to their rapid growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a company and develop their HR department, while being a member of the Executive team. This will require someone with strong HR skills combined with at least five years at the management level. A senior certification is highly desired for this position. If you have a perceptive and personable demeanor and love to be hands on while having a seat on the leadership team, this may be the perfect opportunity for you


Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and guidance by overseeing talent acquisition, employee career development, succession planning, employee relations, training and leadership development
  • Function as a strategic member of the senior leadership team
  • Develop initiatives, policies and programs to complement existing practices and create consistency across the organization
  • Oversee benefit and compensation plans to ensure cost efficiencies and attractiveness to retain top talent

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human resources or management
  • Senior HR Certification
  • 7+ years' of professional HR experience with increasing responsibility. At least 3 years at a management level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
