Job Title: Lead Project Manager - Transmission/Substation Construction

Location: Hybrid (WFH - MI/OH/IL/IN)

Job Type: Full-time.

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Project Manager to oversee and manage our transmission and substation construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the energy industry, specifically in overseeing large-scale transmission and substation projects. This role requires excellent leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of transmission and substation construction projects.
  • Manage project teams including engineers, subcontractors, and support staff to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project delivery processes.
  • Mentor and coach junior project management staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years managing transmission/substation construction projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and safety standards in the energy sector.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar.
  • Experience working with utility companies or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes related to transmission and substation projects.
