We here at the Gustave A. Larson Company are looking our next leader to join us as an Store Manager for our Warehouse Operations and Counter Sales Team. What qualities are we looking for?
We are an HVAC/R wholesale distributor throughout the Midwest and Mountain States, including Salt Lake City. We thrive on being customer service oriented, being nimble, balancing multiple responsibilities, and developing positive relationships with our teams to work together to get the job done. Some responsibilities and examples include:
- Leading your Team to Success – as a Store Manager, you are enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and experienced to lead a team to successful results in a warehouse and store front setting.
- Customer Focused – we are passionate about serving all of our customers, including dealers, business owners and large HVAC companies. We meet customers’ needs by maintaining positive business relationships and delivering on the expectations we set. This means you as the Store Manager are a “promise keeper” for our organization, ensuring that customer’s needs are met daily by having the right product and delivered/picked at the right time.
- HVAC product knowledge – Understanding or a willingness to learn HVAC residential systems is a must, as that experience is needed to assist in selling the right equipment and recommending the right systems for our customers’ jobs.
- Warehouse Operations/Counter Sales Team Best in Class – you lead the teams by maintaining accurate inventory, offering recommendations on ordering product, and understanding operations processes/policies, all while training/coaching your team members in a safe environment. Communicating service initiatives, team member changes, managing a PnL, ensuring that you don’t just meet, but you exceed organizational goals with positive results.
- Attention to Detail – our industry is technical in nature and details matter. It’s not enough to do something “most of the time” – we need leaders who are experts in understanding the small details of our business, our customers and our profitability.
- Growth Minded – you are not interested in maintaining the status quo, you look for individuals to lead with sales growth in mind.
We operate with these three ideas in mind:
- Team Spirit – Above all, we operate in a team environment and therefore holding a true team spirit of cooperation and problem solving is a must. You help coordinate sales growth by building relationships with our warehouse, counter sales, and inside/outside sales teams.
- Sense of Urgency – our customers come first, both internal and external. That’s part of the team spirit, to operate and react quickly. We are proactive and self-motivated – you can lead thru change and be adept at providing solutions.
- We learn & understand the entire business - part of your onboarding training program involves learning and understanding from the beginning how our business operates - you will spend time initially learning the warehouse, counter, quoting, as well as understanding our inside/outside sales teams so you have a solid foundation in your Store Manager of Operations role.
Candidates should have:
- 2 years+ of Operations Management and leadership of a team(HVAC preferred but not required)
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication skills (Outlook)
- Highly motivated and detail oriented
- A proven track record of inventory management and warehouse experience
- Valid Driver’s license/driving record
- High School diploma or equivalent required
