Job DescriptionJob Description


The Engineer support role provides manufacturing, machining, and documentation support for the Engineering group. This role also supports any new process by troubleshooting technical problems and provide valuable feedback that can be documented to aide stability in production release. Evaluates work processes to determine strategies and programs which provide greater productivity and efficiency of company functions by performing the following essential duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Setting up and proving out new programs and processes for CNC machining
• Review operation work holding CAD assemblies for best machining practice to hold critical part tolerances
• Gathers information to aide Engineering in evaluation of current work processes to determine the flow of work, time requirements, costs, and duration.
• Researching technical issues
• Managing and processing Work Orders
• Walking production floor through solutions
• Machining and building tight tolerance custom work-holding solutions
• Documenting troubleshooting and problem resolution steps

Other Tasks
• Will work with purchasing to acquire hardware or cutting tools as needed
• At times will be required to run some production
• Participation in providing training to machine operators as required
• Light Mastercam Mill programming

Education & Experience
• Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technology OR related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in CNC machining / manufacturing on 3 axis verticals and/or lathes required.
• Experience setting up CNC equipment and proving out new programs required.
• Knowledge and understanding of quality instruments and how to use them.

Necessary Skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to securely organize and document data.
• Ability to communicate with internally / externally written and verbal

Preferred additional Education and / or Experience
• Mastercam or Espirit training courses (ie Streaming Teacher, Associates Degree, etc) helpful
• Some exposure to Lean philosophy
• Experience training CNC machining to others
• Familiar with SPC
