Responsibilities

The Parkview Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and attentive part-time chair yoga instructor to join our team by connecting participants to one another and their wellness goals and fostering an atmosphere of small communities with fellow members by which the YMCA's mission can be fulfilled in a fun and healthy way.

  • Connect: Build effective, authentic relationships with members and help to connect them with each other.
  • Serve: Adhere to appropriate and safe class structure, including all health and fitness components, and recognize when participants need assistance, acting promptly to help them.
  • Inspire: Lead fun, safe, and educational group classes and answer participants' questions to support them in their goals.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have at least one year of teaching experience and be certified by an approved organization.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to demonstrate efficiency in group exercise instruction.
  • A degree in the health and fitness field is preferred.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Part-time $11.50-$13.75 hourly

Hours Available: Flexible - twice a week
