JOB SUMMARY

The Jorgensen Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team to work part-time as a group exercise instructor.

Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director, a Group Exercise Instructor leads classes which connect participants to one another and their wellness goals.

Through their leadership and instruction, the group exercise instructor fosters small communities with fellow members by which the YMCA's mission can be fulfilled in a fun and healthy way.

To accomplish all of this, a Group Exercise Instructor must continually develop their knowledge and skill in the philosophy, training principles, and standards of physical fitness.


Shifts Available at the Jorgensen Family YMCA:

  • Evening classes

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A degree in the health and fitness field is preferred or previous related yoga instruction experience.
  • Must have and maintain valid and current certifications outlined by position; certifications an include: ACE/YMCA, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or NETA.
  • Able to fulfill all demands and skills in spirit, mind, and body for group exercise instructors in accordance with YMCA standards.
  • Positive, service-oriented attitude serving diverse groups of children in regard to age, abilities, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, etc.
  • Team player willing to contribute to the culture, mission, and values of the YMCA
