JOB PURPOSE: The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department for the organization’s Acute Care and Recovery Center locations under the collaboration of the Human Resources (HR) Manager. This includes: onboarding, offboarding, training, HR compliance and enforcing company policies and practices.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains all onboarding/offboarding tasks for employees at the Recovery Center and outpatient locations. This includes but not limited to: exclusion list checks; monitoring/submitting background and drug screen applications; E-Verify, new hire training checklists; job postings internally/externally; resignation letter acknowledgements; exit interviews; and probationary period evaluations. All information is then to be saved accordingly and routinely monitored.
  • Assists the HR Manager with new hire orientation and employee training programs (OVP University/Relias).
  • Works with the Operation Managers to ensure employee performance evaluations for the Recovery Center, Outpatient Locations and Hospitals are compliant.
  • Ensuring job descriptions for all employees are compliant and partnering with the HR Manager for job description updates.
  • Assists the HR Manager with Relias Training compliance.
  • Performs monthly employee file audits for accuracy and assist with outside audits when needed.
  • Maintains the expiration spreadsheets for licensed and certified employees across the organization.
  • Conducts monthly peer reviews and once completed, is uploaded to the HRIS system.
  • Assists the CHRO and HR Manager in employee satisfaction survey compliance.
  • Maintains the immunizations and certifications in Excel and the HRIS system for the following: Flu Shots, TB Tests, COVID vaccinations and CPR Certifications.
  • Uploads and sends out notifications for e-signatures from employees through the HRIS system.
  • Reviews and maintains the following lists monthly for compliance reporting for: SAM, OIG and Medicaid exclusions.
  • With the HR Manager, recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations when applicable with the HR Manager.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Process reports for managerial staff as requested.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field a plus.
  • At least two to five years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM certification is a plus.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

TRAVEL:

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, and core hours and workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30pm. This position may require evening or weekend work.

This job operates in a professional office environment. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not normally exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
