We are looking to add a motivated & compassionate chemical operator to our Tedia team to work out of our Fairfield, Ohio location. We are a customer-driven company that provides high-purity solvents for life science, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, laboratory, and industrial applications. We are in need of a strong contributor to help us stay focused on two of our core values and they are: Safety and Quality.
This individual must possess a solid understanding of chemical processes and mechanics. You can expect to work as an integral part of the production team and may be responsible for retrieving, weighing and mixing chemical ingredients, monitoring equipment during the chemical process, record information and assist in the planning and improvement of processes or products by complying with all company, local, state, and federal safety and quality regulations.

Core Responsibilities:
- Assure safety requirements are known and followed
- Use proper PPE for assigned tasks
- Notify supervisor immediately of any safety related issues
- Set up and dismantle filling equipment
- Blend chemicals for DNA blends
- Process chemicals for Anhydrosolv solvents
- Use instrumentation: GC (Assay), UV spectrophotometer (Optical Absorbance), and KF (water) to analyze in-process samples
- Clean filling equipment, holding tanks, totes, reactors, and pumps according to procedure
- Organize the production equipment in designated areas
- Submit samples to the lab for analysis according to procedure
- Be highly aware of quality issues and BOM
- Fill drums, totes, bottles, and RC's according to BOM
- Unload and charge tankers (bulk material) following the given instructions
- Clean and pack columns with adsorbent material and activate the column
- Steam waste adsorbent material for disposal
- Assist Chemical Operators with charging reactors and with other requirements
- Handle waste according to the established procedures
- Complete the cleaning record form
Qualifications
- Having knowledge and/or experience with chemistry and math knowledge is preferred
- Independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities, and problem-solving skills are essential
- Manufacturing experience
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
Seniority Level: Entry level Chemical Operator I; non-exempt
Employment Type: Full-time, 12 hour shifts-rotating schedule with rotating weekends.

- Be comfortable working in a hazmat chemical environment
- Able to stoop, bend, twist, and climb ladders and/or stairs
- Use hands and arms to handle and reach
- Able to walk, talk, and hear
- Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Hand-eye coordination sufficient to place labels on bottles and boxes accurately
- Able to move up to 70 lbs.
- Able to lift up to 15 lbs. above shoulder height
- Able to shift drums of product up to 300 lbs.
- Able to work in hot and cold environment while wearing PPE.
