If you are looking for an opportunity to contribute your skills and knowledge our client is looking for a Development Scientist I / Systems I.

  • Participate in the integration, verification and validation of new and/or improved hardware and software features for Beckman Coulter's Clinical Chemistry and Immunochemistry Diagnostic Systems
  • Perform assay testing on these systems and uses the resulting performance to assess the functionality of new and/or improved features
  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which results may be obtained
  • Work w/ engineering team to identify issues and investigate to root cause
  • Participate in proces improvement, design change or current product support projects
  • Write and execute experimental protocols, analyzes data, summarize result, report status of experiments to supervisor and write associated reports
  • Provide quality assurance for adherence to technical standards
  • Maintain well organized laboratory notebooks in compliance with relevant procedures and supports technologies post-launch to resolve performance and/or quality issues.

Salary: $DOE/ hr, (long term contract)

Schedule: FT, 40 hrs, M-F, 8:30am - 5 pm

Location: Brea, CA

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree - Biology, Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering w/ 0 - 2 yrs of previous industry laboratory experience
  • Previous experience w/ automated General Chemistry and/or Immunochemistry Diagnostic Systems
  • Familiar w/ BCI Clinical Chemistry and/or Immunochemistry Diagnostics platforms (DxC, AU, Access, DxI, IMMAGE)
  • Good laboratory technique w/ analytical expertise
  • Strong communication skills w/ the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a rapidly changing task environment w/ a variety of tasks
  • Ability to troubleshoot Hardware and Software failures- mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • Skills to be successful: Attention to detail, ability to problem solve, ability to multi-task and good organizational skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
  • The position is subject to passing a background check and drug screen
