QA Analyst I

Basic Job Description:
  •  As a QA Analyst, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to Quality Assurance System and compliance programs supporting cGMP activities for manufacturing dietary supplements. You will also be responsible for reviewing batch production records, corrective action follow-ups, verifying cleanliness of facility and equipment before/after operation, calibration of measuring instrument, pest control and glass/brittle control.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Comply with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), and must be able to interpret, follow and complete scheduled quality assurance tasks on-time.
  • Verify all raw materials or packaging materials and labels prior to use by production.
  • Perform in-process control checks during manufacturing and packaging operation.
  • Assist in reviewing batch production records, in-process product test reports and releasing batches or lots.
  • Reject any non-conforming activities or failure to standard procedures.
  • Perform regular follow-ups and tracks open CAPAs and report to QA Manager.
  • Document areas/procedures in need of quality and compliance improvement and any deviations in the actions performed by employees and the written SOPs.
  • Analyze deviations between SOPs and observed actions and determine if the actions must be corrected or the SOPs must be modified and report to QA Manager.
  • Design action plans to improve quality in the manufacturing process.
  • Immediately correct any behavior that may compromise quality.
  • Perform inspection and monitoring cleanliness of utensils, equipment and GMP areas.
  • Perform weekly inspection of pest control system and collect evidence records.
  • Perform testing lighting level of all manufacturing areas and maintaining records.
  • Assist in maintaining and archiving electronic and paper of batch history records as it relates to Quality.
  • Develop strong lines of communication with other co-workers to increase plant-efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings and improve product quality.
  • Must wear appropriate gear: hairnets, gloves, hearing protection, dust masks, etc.
  • Yearly Refresher Training on following topics:
    • Food Safety (HACCP/HARPC overview).
    • Food Defense.
    • Personal Hygiene and GMP’s.
    • Sanitary and Safe Food Handling Techniques.
    • Allergens.
    • Quality Assurance of Sanitation.
    • Measuring Instrument Calibration.
    • CAPA (Corrective Action and Preventive Action) Program.
    • Glass and Brittle Materials Control Procedures.
    • Artwork Approval.
    • Updates or Revisions made to SOPs since last training.
  • Must be able to do overtime when requested from time to time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that are necessary, required or directed by supervisors.

Education Requirements:
  • Highschool Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Experience Requirements:
  • No experience required; training will be provided.
  • Computer Literacy, Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power point).

Certification Requirements:
  • No Certification necessary.

Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, walking and climbing for 8+ hours a day.
  • Must be able to handle varying temperatures per department.
