Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Overview

The Job Development and Placement Specialist, a member of the Employment Transition Services (ETS) team, helps prepare clients for the workforce by assessing skills for successful job placement, assisting with resume/cover letter development, interview practice, and other job readiness skills. The Job Development and Placement Specialist then works to connect the client to possible employment opportunities, develops relationships with employers, and conducts outreach to other community-based agencies based out of the Framingham/Metrowest region.

Essential Functions

  • Works closely with Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) offices, predominately the MRC Framingham office, and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRC) to build rapport and develop new referrals.
  • Assists and coaches clients with resume/cover letter development, interview practice, and other job readiness skills.
  • Assists client in jobs to maintain employment through regular communication and support.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read a job description and identify the skills required to perform the job for successful job placement.
  • Develops strategy for contacting potential employers and building long term relationships for client placement opportunities.
  • Markets Easterseals MA (ESMA) services to employers and other referral sources.
  • Identifies employment opportunities and maintains knowledge of the local job market.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and case notes based on MRC and Easterseals policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the Metrowest area.
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor, and positive company image.

Qualifications

  • B.A. or equivalent in experience, education, and specialized training.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience with successful placement and job development.
  • Effective interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bilingual Spanish & English preferred
