Job Summary: The Production Scheduler Assistant supports the production scheduler and master scheduler by helping to develop, update, and implement production schedules. This role involves coordinating with different departments, maintaining records, and ensuring that all necessary resources and materials are available for production.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule Management:
    • Assist in creating and updating production schedules.
    • Create and release Stock Orders through system MRP process
    • Monitor production progress and report any deviations from the schedule.
    • Ensure timely communication of schedule changes to relevant departments.
  2. Data Entry and Reporting:
    • Monitor records of production activities, including work orders, material usage, and inventory levels.
    • Review reports on production performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Track inventory levels to ensure sufficient materials are available for production schedulers to support requirements.
    • Coordinate with the inventory and purchasing to manage stock levels and ensure materials are ordered as needed.
  1. Monitor production plan to actual and communicate as needed when it impacts ship date.
  1. Coordination and Communication:
    • Facilitate communication between the production team, purchasing, and other departments.
    • Address any scheduling conflicts or resource shortages promptly.
    • Assist in coordinating meetings and updates with the production team.
  2. Documentation:
    • Prepare and maintain production-related documentation, including schedules, work orders, and material requisitions.
    • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  3. Support Tasks:
    • Assist with the implementation of production plans and schedules.
    • Help resolve any issues that arise during production.
    • Provide general administrative support to the production scheduler and Master Scheduler.

Supervision:

Minimal; must be able to function independently on projects within the job scope; must manage schedules for optimum results.

Education/Experience:

  • Educational Background:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in production management or a related field are a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
    • Familiarity with production planning software and ERP systems.

  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with different teams and departments.
  • Organizational Skills:
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Ability to analyze production data and generate reports.
    • Problem-solving skills to address production issues.

Physical Demands:

Routine physical demands for office environment. Operates personal computer, copier, facsimile machine, printer, calculator, and telephone. Prolonged periods of sitting required. Occasional lifting of boxes (up to 25 pounds) may be required as needed. Must be able to ascend and descent stairs and traverse throughout offices and plant areas, as needed.

Work Environment:

This person works in an office environment but may also spend time on the production floor observing operations and addressing any issues firsthand. Exposed to minimal hazards.

Additional Information:

Work Location: Corporate facility Dublin, OH; Working Hours: 7:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. or more if required to meet deadlines. Must be reliable. Generally responsible for the safety of own work area. Safety glasses and proper footwear are required in manufacturing areas.
