CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Charleston, SC

Shift: Full-Time, Days, Rotating Weekends, 12-Hour Shifts
On-Call Requirement: 8-10 Call Shifts Every 4 Weeks (Weekdays: 12-Hour Shifts, Weekends: 24-Hour Shifts)

Salary: $32.00 - $47.00 per hour
Shift Differential: Nights $3.50, On-Call $3.50, Weekends $3.50
Sign-On Bonus & Relocation: Case by Case Basis

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated CVOR Registered Nurse to join our surgical team in Charleston, SC. In this role, you will provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac surgeries. You will collaborate with physicians and other heart team members to ensure high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include effective communication with the entire surgical team and the patients' families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in emergency procedures and scheduled surgeries.
  • Work alongside surgical teams to provide the best patient care.
  • Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families.
  • Organize supplies needed for patients.
  • Assess patients before, during, and after surgery, maintaining a sterile operating room.
  • Perform count procedures to protect patients from retained foreign objects.
  • Ensure procedures are performed on the correct site, side, and level.
  • Maintain patient stability across various body systems during surgery.
  • Administer medications as per physician orders.
  • Involve patients or their support persons in decisions affecting their postoperative care and rehabilitation.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification required.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in CVOR nursing required.
