Job Purpose:

The HIP quality assurance coordinator will assist in quality assurance activities. The HIP quality coordinator will be responsible for reviewing payments for discrepancies and addressing any quality deficiency

Essential Job Functions including, but not limited to:

1. Assist in quality activities

o Verifies payment information for accuracy and notifies accounting clerk of errors for correction.

o Investigate claims for fraudulent activity and report findings.

o Add, update and maintain vendor information for payment.

o Gather, organize and enter vendor W9 information into MIP.


2. Assist in Accounting functions

o Scan and prepare refund checks to be given to Accounting for deposit.

o Enter refunds into Careware as credits for monthly billing.

o Assist with crediting uncleared checks.


3. Other Duties

• Adhere to department policies, procedures and objectives.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with both federal and state health information privacy laws.

• Assist other HIP staff in scanning and filing documents.

• Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work.

• Special projects and tasks as assigned.



Skills, Licensure and Knowledge Requirements:

Valid LA Driver’s License


Required Education:

A high school diploma required

Associate degree in accounting or business preferred or two to three years of accounting experience.

Travel or Special Requirements:

Driving during the workday as well as local or out of state travel may be required to perform job duties.
