Position Summary:

IEM is hiring for a Full Time- Accounts Payable Manager to join IEM. The AP Manager will assist an already amazing team to meet the needs of our clients and group of professionals.

Primary Location:

  • Candidate must live in commutable distance to Morrisville, NC
  • Position will be a Remote and In Office role making it a Hybrid work schedule
  • Need to be in office 2 days a week and as needed for AP checks
  • All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.

  • None currently

Essential Functions:

  • Fully responsible for all accounts payable functions (receive invoices, check accuracy, approvals, code, key-in, cut checks, mail, etc)
  • Understanding of Project Accounting
  • Genreral knowledge of FAR regulations
  • In-depth understanding of credit card reconciliaitons
  • Manage the check writing, ACH and Wire process
  • General understanding of Positive Pay requirements for each of the above processes
  • Function as the subject matter expert for the AP process
  • Ensure that the AP process follows proper procedures in accordance with GAAP and establised AP Procedure Manual
  • Establish measures and manage associate workforce to promote an "excellence in customer service" focus and culture
  • Recommend, document and implement continuous process improvements that streamline processes or reduce errors
  • Provides oversight for the accounts payable database systems integrity
  • Supports management including development of ad hoc reporting as needed
  • Responsible for managing vendor leases and recurring payments
  • Responsible for accurate and timely review and approval of accounts payable reconciliations
  • Supports financial and compliance audits of accounts payable system
  • Prepares monthly reports and analysis on the accounts payable activity
  • Approve vendors and maintain supplier file
  • Review invoices for proper coding, approval, and compliance with company policies
  • Print and review checks and corresponding reports, ensuring their validity and accuracy
  • Issue stop payments and voids
  • Respond to inquiries from clients, employees, and management
  • Execute special projects and other related A/P functions as directed
  • Experience with Certify Travel and Expense a plus
  • Ability to document processes
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to deliver a high level of Customer Service
  • Ability to assess a problem and promptly resolve or escalate to Controller or other appropriate persons
  • Capable of being entrusted with "confidential" information
  • Ability to build, coach, and motivate team members
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization including external customers
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple, concurrent tasks

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products
  • Medium to advances Excel skills
  • Deltek Costpoint experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of Accounts Payable supervisory experience
