DAY TO DAY AS A FUNCTIONAL SPECIALIST/ADVISOR - SENIOR

As a Full Time Functional Specialist/Advisor - Senior at Mission Intelligence Group in Springfield, VA, you will leverage your specialized expertise in various fields such as engineering, technology, policy, and management to provide invaluable guidance to clients and project teams. Your role will involve ensuring that quality standards are met throughout the product or service development process, overseeing test and measurement activities, and leading quality assurance initiatives. By facilitating thought leadership and employing your strategic problem-solving skills, you will play a vital role in driving excellence and innovation within our organization. This position requires TS/SCI Clearance.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS FUNCTIONAL SPECIALIST/ADVISOR - SENIOR JOB

To excel as a Full Time Functional Specialist/Advisor - Senior at Mission Intelligence Group in Springfield, VA, candidates must possess strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The role requires individuals to demonstrate expertise in areas such as engineering, technology, policy, and management, showcasing their in-depth knowledge and understanding of these fields. Additionally, the ability to provide guidance, consultation, and thought leadership to clients and project teams is essential in driving high-quality solutions and ensuring the success of various initiatives within the organization. This position requires TS/SCI Clearance.

Duties include:

  • Provide strategic and technical support to the Director, International Solutions Office (TIP) to improve mission prioritization, alignment, and integration.
  • Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improve current techniques.
  • Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and operational needs to determine mission health.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities and status.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, Image Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or other related degree program or equivalent Senior Level experience as a Functional Specialist.
  • Demonstrated experience providing guidance and direction in programs.
  • Senior-level experience in guidance, consultation, facilitation, and thought leadership to the client and/or project team based on specialized in-depth expertise in such fields as:
    • engineering and technology
    • policy and administration
    • program management
    • planning
    • analysis
    • training and development
    • facilities
    • communications
    • visual design
    • human capital
    • business

Desired:

  • Master's degree in Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, Image Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or other related degree program.
  • Senior-level experience working with DoD/IC Acquisition Process or PPBES.
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages.
  • Previous NGA and/or NSG/ASG program/project work experience.
  • Previous IC or DoD program/project work experience.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with:
    • Project Management software (Project, Primavera)
    • Financial tracking software
    • Customer relationship management CRM software.
    • Enterprise resource planning ERP software.
