To achieve this, the 2nd Shift Supervisor plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between shifts. They foster clear communication and collaboration with 1st shift personnel and subject matter experts. This collaboration promotes consistent company-wide standards, problem-solving methodologies, and planning practices. The goal is to create a unified MBI culture where both shifts share the same expectations and experiences, ensuring a smooth handoff and a positive work environment.
Responsibilities and Duties· Monitor and Improve employee Morale and Engagement:
o Training Team Members and MBI standards.
o Offer guidance and coaching.
o Motivating co-workers.
o Monitor individual and team performance.
· Supervisory responsibilities:
o Fully enforce disciplinary and attendance policies and procedures.
o Resolve conflicts.
o Perform candidate assessments.
o Provide feedback regarding what is / is not working.
o Suggestions for improvement.
o Act as new employee trainer during the onboarding process.
o Assist 2nd shift leadership with employee assessment and development.
· Safety
o Watchful and corrective as necessary regarding safe behaviors and OSHA Compliance.
· Quality
o Ensure quality standards are maintained or exceeded.
· Delivery
o Delegate and adjust tasks according to daily plan.
o Help plan and maintain production flow, line balance.
o Help MBI operations meet customer delivery expectations.
· Cost
o Help ensure employees are productive.
o Minimize scraping of materials.
· Perform production work 70-80%.
Requirements:- Minimum of 5 years of experience in custom steel fabrication.
- Strong leadership, supervisory skills, organizational, & problem solving.
- Ability to read blueprints & engineering fabrication drawings.
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines in an efficient & profitable manner.
- Knowledge of AWS D1.1 quality control procedures.
- Welding knowledge & application of GMAW (Mig), FCAW (Flux).
- Ability to recommend proper procedures & provide guidance to the shop personnel.
· Prefer is certification to Welder to MBI weld process.
- Employee in good standing with all MBI attendance and other policies
