Eagle Brook Church is a multi-site church looking for a highly motivated, relational, and organized leader to join our campus team as a Kids Ministries Associate. This person will be developed to recruit and develop volunteers to work with kids for the campus. They will support the Pastor of Kids Ministries by overseeing volunteer schedules and ensuring Kids environments are set up for weekend services. This role is designed to train people to become ministry leaders with the possibility of becoming a pastor. A highly organized person skilled in connecting people to serving will thrive in this role. Kids Ministries Associate // EAGLE BROOK CHURCH

POSITION SUMMARY

Supports the Pastor of Kids Ministries by creating safe, inviting experiences, and developing relationships, so that kids can know and follow Jesus. Assists with building and equipping volunteer teams to serve. Prepares Kids environments for weekend services. Through an intentional training process, the Kids Ministries Associate will gain leadership skills and spiritual development that will help them thrive in this role and potentially prepare them to step into the role of Pastor. Along with other ministry associates, they will have the opportunity to participate in Eagle Brook’s Pastoral Development Program learning the skills and practices of pastoral ministry. Reports to the Pastor of Kids Ministries.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads under the direction of their assigned Pastor of Kids Ministries
  • Recruits, onboards, and develops volunteers for Kids Ministries by:
    • Inviting people to use their spiritual gifts as volunteers
    • Providing an excellent onboarding and training experience that equips volunteers to serve
    • Overseeing volunteer schedules
    • Coordinating volunteer teams to ensure safe adult to kid ratios
    • Directing volunteers to resources: website, curriculum, etc.
    • Providing ongoing coaching to volunteers to best win in their role
  • Invests in the development of volunteer leaders (Directors and Team Leads) in cooperation with their Pastor of Kids Ministries by:
    • Identifying individuals who display leadership potential
    • Scheduling and facilitating trainings
  • Works closely with Pastor of Kids Ministries and volunteer leaders to ensure all kids regardless of disabilities and additional needs can participate:
    • Support families and communicate the plan for each kid
    • Match kids with trained and prepared volunteers
    • Manage ongoing family relationships
  • Serves as a spiritual influencer and encourager to volunteers, parents, and kids
  • Executes centrally designed ministry strategies and upholds safety policies and procedures
  • Ensures environments are in order and ready for the weekend services: curriculum and supplies
  • Participates in pastoral development training for the purpose of becoming a licensed minister
    • pursuing a pastoral position is not a requirement
  • Works with other campus staff to support the ministry needs of the campus
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or combination of education and experience (typically 3+ years) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry, communications, or education preferred
  • 1+ years of experience building, equipping, and developing volunteers or staff
  • 1+ years of experience in ministry as a volunteer
  • Ability to motivate teams of people and build relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and administrative skills
  • Follower of Jesus and aligns with Eagle Brook’s nine core beliefs
  • Demonstrates a Christ-centered life
  • Driven to reach kids who do not know Christ
  • General understanding of kids emotional, physical, and spiritual development
  • Desire to come alongside parents for care and equipping them to lead their child’s spiritual direction

WORK SCHEDULE

Generally, Saturday – Wednesday or Sunday – Thursday based on weekend service schedule at assigned campus. Hours include weekend services plus some evening hours for meetings or events. Needs to be able to meet when volunteers are available or pastoral care is needed.
