Job DescriptionJob DescriptionServices Manager would be responsible to plan, organize and direct all Mechanical Services (HVAC/R, Plumbing, Electrical) personnel, shop and field activities. Supervise and serve as technical consultant/mentor for workforce consisting of Service Technicians who install and service heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems in a residential, light commercial or industrial building. Supervises stock operations for the Service Department.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Assigns new employees to appropriate technician/installer to begin on-the-job training.
  • Inspects work in progress as necessary or responds to trouble calls from Service Technicians/Installers regarding problem-solving, i.e. diagnosis of cause of equipment breakdowns and appropriate repair or replacement options.
  • Supervises activities of Service Technicians and oversees stock functions.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders as needed for area of supervision.
  • Analyzes and works to resolve work problems.
  • Responsible to submit performance evaluations and/or merit increase recommendations for employees within scope of supervision.
  • May assist in inspection of structures to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from pipe installation.
  • Monitor controllable costs incurred within department (cell phone usage, vehicle expenses, office supplies, etc.)
Qualifications include:

  • Must possess current valid PA driver's license
  • Equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience, vo-tech training or college degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years construction background, in foremanship or other leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, ability to read drawings.
  • Must have working knowledge of electrical code and review changes ever 3 years as updated.
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Journeyman/Master Plumber's License preferred
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
