We are seeking a NCCER or NCCCO certified Crane Operator for a position in Baton Rouge, LA. This position operates an overhead crane to move objects, components and material. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

  • Schedule: 10 hour shifts (days and nights)
  • Travel $600 in and $600 out with ROF
  • Per diem is available for this position

Essential Qualifications:

  • NCCER or NCCCO certification required
  • Large Hydraulic only 250 and above
  • Crawler - Lattice boom 300 and above
  • High school or equivalent
  • Must have valid Driver's license
  • Travel to Michigan required
  • Preferably one (1) to two (2) years of experience in specified skill
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Job site "Personal Protective Equipment" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt,
    gloves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements:

  • Read and sign off on JSA.
  • Operates overhead crane from a cab.
  • Receives verbal communication from employees where location of crane is needed to move materials throughout accessible areas.
  • Stays awake, alert and is aware of surroundings.
  • Uses hand levers to control functions of the crane.
  • Performs daily inspection of crane.
  • Reports any unsatisfactory findings to the Foreman.
  • Reads and interprets load charts.
  • Understands hand signals for communicating with employees in work area.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing into and out of equipment; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction
