LEMOINE is seeking a Crane Operator to work in the Baton Rouge area. A crane operator will operate 200-230 Ton cranes to lift and move equipment and/or material on construction projects. At LEMOINE, we believe in achieving excellence in construction while enhancing the lives of all involved. Over the past few years, we have accomplished many great projects that have exceeded customer expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate 200-230 Ton cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads.
- Ensure the crane is properly set up, including rigging and other auxiliary equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on cranes and equipment.
- Inspect crane for safety issues on a daily basis.
- Follow all safety regulations and protocols to ensure the safety of workers and materials.
- Communicate with riggers and other workers on-site to ensure coordinated and safe operations.
- Utilize hand signals, loudspeakers, two-way radios, or telephones for effective communication.
- Read and understand load charts and other technical documentation.
- Adjust controls to stabilize and level the crane.
- Monitor operations to ensure compliance with safety procedures and load limits.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- NCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating large cranes (200-230 Ton capacity).
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly with supervisors and co-workers.
- Utilize basic math to calculate load weights and balance points.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Must have good endurance.
- Will be required to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and crawl to perform tasks.
- Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
- Ability to work in an environment with exposures to dust, dirt, and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
- Must have reliable transportation
