Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary:

The Digital Pre-Production Specialist supports the Promo Products business channel by modifying and creating Customer Service supplied digital artwork files, for use in printing personalized pens on various output devices as determined by the Promotional Products team.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Modify customer-provided digital artwork files, or create as needed using Adobe Illustrator, while following established production guidelines of all output devices, including screen, pad, and UV-inkjet printers.
  • Generate accurate, electronic soft proofs of orders for customer approval based on specific input from the Customer Service team.
  • Facilitate the communication flow of electronic work orders and digital artwork files between the Customer Service and Promotional Products teams, using established workflows and best practices.
  • Ensure accurate file-naming, order-labeling and artwork production requirements for clear communication between all teams to reduce the chance of misprints.
  • Work directly with the Promotional Products team as needed, to adjust digital artwork files, ensuring the finest quality reproduction is achieved for our customers.
  • Accurately proofread all artwork to avoid errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, or established artwork tolerances.
  • Communicate with the Creative Services team as needed for assistance and backup capacity during periods of high volume, out-of-office or for evolving production and communication workflows.
  • Assist with print production, based on workload and availability.
  • Assist in film processing using Rip It software, including adjustments to artworks, when needed.
  • Assist with shipment of orders following customer specifications when needed.
  • Work extended shifts and/or weekends, when necessary, which in most cases would occur during the Back-to-School seasons.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Associate in Art degree specialized in Graphic Design or equivalent preferred. Up to four years professional work experience with pre-press production in any of the following environments: Commercial offset printing, Screen printing, Manufacturing utilizing pad printing, Large-format inkjet printing or Commercial pre-press service bureau.

Skills Required:

Speak and comprehend direction and feedback as articulated in English. High degree of proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of applications. Ability to work quickly, efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy. Excellent organizational ability. Proficient in electronic file-management and written and spoken communication skills. Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator for production, including color separations, trapping and output for a range of printing including 1-, 2- and 4/C print techniques using both Pantone® spot-color and CMYK color models.
