Hourly, Non-Exempt

$18.50 per hour after training

Role

The purpose of the role of Operator is to set up, tear down, and run machines to the optimal levels.

Responsibilities

  • Correctly set up and operate production equipment.

  • Responsible for achieving machine uptime goals.

  • Coordinate equipment improvements with Maintenance and Process Teams.

  • Execute equipment changeovers.

  • Perform maintenance to prevent breakdowns and reduce down times.

  • Keep work areas clean.

  • Have basic knowledge of food safety.

  • Have basic knowledge of product specifications.

  • Have basic knowledge of food quality.

  • Report emergency repair needs, and log needed future repairs.

  • Analyze and determine root cause for equipment downtime.

  • Support team lead on production line.

  • Train new team members in specific duties and machine safety.

  • Read labels and product spec sheets.

  • Ability to backfill Team Leader position.

    • Filling out paperwork
    • Pulling ingredients following FIFO
    • Communicate with logistics, QA, and supervisor about production

Education & Training Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Work Experience Requirements

  • 1+ years in a production facility.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, and stand for up to 10 hours a day.

  • Lifting requirements are 25lbs regularly, 50lbs occasionally.

  • Exposure to variation in temperature.
  • Working with uncooked, cooked, frozen products.

Expectations

  • Basic Light industrial skills.
  • Basic machine trouble shooting skills.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to operate a Pallet Jack.
  • Hearing and visual skills.
